Buddy's Bizarre The Buddycard Phenomenon
In
September, 1994, Buddy launched a unique product into the
marketplace: a series of 16 humorous, giant, action-figure
postcards, 13 of which feature Buddy, himself, as a
sympathetic, yet comic, character. The cards took his
parents' house by storm, and they remain there until this day
-- 40,000 albatrosses that his mom and dad cannot wait to have
disappeared. The cards never
really caught the attention of mainstream America, nor the
avant-garde crowd, nor university students, nor, basically,
anyone. The prison inmates of one local
penitentiary boycotted "make your own sundae" three nights in
a row until the cards were removed from the cafeteria bulletin
board. The largest sale of Buddycards occurred in a closet
-- literally. About five years ago, there was a
flood in Buddy's parents' basement storage facility, and the
insurance check for the damaged cards represents the largest
movement of cards in their infamous history. |
It is Sound Mind
& Body's contention that Buddy was, and still is, ahead of his
time. Therefore, he has agreed to re-release
the complete set of Buddycards in time for any future holiday
or occasion. They make terrible gifts! Pictured above
and below are the front and back of several of the
cards. We are not going to show all of them to you here, for:
We want you to keep wanting more
Buddy. (And then there is the matter
of additional embarrassment - as if things aren't bad
enough!) |
Unless you
purchase a significant number of packs (and thus demonstrate your
questionable taste and mental state), the shipping charge for the
Buddycards half and whole sets will be less via the United States
Postal Service (USPS). If the online calculated charge seems
too high, please call us, and we will take your order over the
phone. When considering the purchase of this unique and
bizarre piece of Americana, please have compassion: Think
of Buddy's parents! |

& Whole Sets of Buddycards are available for purchase online
